Kyoukai Sensen

Kyoukai Sensen is a manga anthology comprising five interconnected short stories set in the devastating aftermath of Tokyo's total destruction. Reduced to rubble by an unspecified catastrophe, the once-great metropolis now lies in ruins while the paralyzed national government slowly attempts to reorganize itself far beyond the city's shattered borders. Overwhelmed by the sheer scale of the disaster and incapable of managing relief efforts during its fragile restructuring, the state has taken drastic measures: erecting a strict blockade around the fallen capital and abandoning the remaining inhabitants to their fate. Left entirely to their own devices, the survivors are forced to navigate a violent, lawless society rapidly taking shape within the quarantine zone. The collection explores the lives of these stranded individuals as they struggle to endure the harsh realities of their isolated world. Driven by desperation and differing ideals, the characters face a stark divide in how they choose to survive. Some risk everything to breach the heavily guarded perimeter, hoping to escape the chaos and reclaim their place in what remains of civilization. Others, however, have embraced the collapse of order entirely, choosing instead to forge their own paths and live freely within the untamed anarchy of Tokyo's ruins.
