The 13th Night

For five centuries, the Lan Empire has thrived as a realm of grandeur and deep-seated corruption. Born into the prestigious House of Joo—one of the four founding families that established the empire—Lynx was cast aside at birth and left to survive in the unforgiving slums. Now nineteen years old, her precarious existence reaches a breaking point when she is on the verge of being sold off as a concubine to a decrepit old man. Just as her fate seems sealed, an unexpected figure intervenes: Heeyun Joo, a noblewoman who bears a striking resemblance to Lynx. Heeyun reveals herself to be Lynx’s long-lost older twin sister, reuniting them after nearly two decades apart. However, this miraculous reunion carries a desperate weight. Afflicted by a terminal condition that is slowly draining her life away, Heeyun makes a singular, urgent request. She begs her younger twin to assume her identity and step into the treacherous world of imperial nobility in her place. Thrust from the shadows into the gilded halls of power, Lynx must now navigate a dangerous masquerade to fulfill her dying sister's final wish.
