In the Kingdom of Asatae, Wol Yeon is a spirited young girl born into the prestigious Yeon clan. She harbors a bold ambition to one day serve as a general, but her dreams are violently shattered when the royal government orders the merciless extermination of her entire family. With her parents and relatives murdered, Wol is left with no one to trust except her devoted tutor, Jae-i. Determined to see justice served, Jae-i takes the orphaned girl under his wing and dedicates the next eight years to forging her into a master assassin. Every lesson and grueling training session is designed with a single purpose: to prepare Wol for an eventual strike against the king responsible for her family's annihilation. When the time finally comes, Wol successfully breaches the royal palace, fully prepared to carry out her long-awaited vengeance. However, upon reaching her target, she discovers that the truth behind her clan’s massacre is far more complicated than she was led to believe. The reality she uncovers within the palace walls challenges everything she knows, revealing that nothing in the kingdom is truly as it seems.
