Kaoru possesses an extraordinary and isolating ability: he can see the legendary red strings of fate that bind destined lovers together, and more importantly, he can sever them. Turning this rare gift into a profession, he makes his living untangling the romantic destinies of others. However, this unique line of work comes with a profound personal cost. Because of his interference with fate, Kaoru’s own finger remains bare, devoid of any red string. Convinced that destiny will never tether him to another person, he has deliberately closed himself off from the possibility of true love, accepting a life of emotional detachment. His carefully guarded solitude is challenged when Hara, one of his clients, unexpectedly confesses his deep feelings for him.
