Ootani Rin is a high school student who attends an elite academy on a scholarship, standing out sharply from her wealthy classmates. Her family was plunged into poverty after her father’s gambling addiction left them destitute, and he eventually abandoned them altogether. Since his disappearance, Rin has shouldered the heavy responsibility of caring for her mother and younger sisters, working tirelessly to keep her fractured household afloat. Her prestigious school strictly prohibits students from holding part-time jobs, a rule Rin quietly defies out of sheer necessity. Surrounded by affluent peers who have no reason to scrutinize her personal life, she initially feels secure in keeping her employment hidden. However, her carefully maintained secret is jeopardized when a male classmate unexpectedly takes an interest in her. After discovering that Rin is working in violation of school policy, this boy decides to leverage the information rather than report her. To ensure his silence and protect both her scholarship and her family's fragile stability, Rin is forced into an unusual arrangement: she must prepare a homemade bento for him every day. What begins as a reluctant compromise soon intertwines their lives in ways neither anticipated.
