Chichi Kogusa

Chichi Kogusa follows the life of a traveling medicine seller and his young son as they navigate the profound grief of losing someone precious to them both. For years, the father lived a solitary existence, constantly journeying from place to place to practice his trade. Because he was always away working, he never truly had the opportunity to raise his child or build a meaningful bond with him. Everything changes when his wife suddenly passes away, leaving him solely responsible for the boy. With no one else to care for his son, the medicine seller is forced to bring the child along on his isolated travels. This abrupt shift disrupts his quiet, independent routine and compels him to adapt his nomadic lifestyle to accommodate a grieving child he barely knows. As they walk the road together, father and son must confront not only their shared sorrow but also the emotional distance between them. Their journey becomes a delicate struggle to understand one another, forcing a man who has always traveled alone to finally learn what it means to be a parent while carrying the heavy weight of their mutual loss.
