Summary

Official Details
Damekko Doubutsu follows a charming cast of characters who don distinctive kigurumi costumes representing various animals. However, beneath these playful exteriors lies a shared struggle: every individual in this group fails to embody the natural traits expected of their respective species. Because they cannot live up to the standards of the animal they represent, society has rejected them, forcing these misfits into exile within a secluded sanctuary known as the "Useless" Forest. At the heart of the story is Uruno, a wolf whose gentle and timid nature stands in stark contrast to the fearsome predator he is supposed to be. Possessing the delicate personality of a shy rabbit rather than a pack hunter, Uruno finds himself entirely out of place among his own kind. His closest companion serves as a perfect foil to his predicament. Usahara, despite being a rabbit, exhibits the fierce dominance and aggressive instincts typically associated with wolves. Together, these two unlikely friends navigate life in their forest refuge, proving that true character extends far beyond the expectations placed upon one's species.
