Tadamachi Komori genuinely loves his career as an elementary school teacher, but his daily life is constantly overshadowed by the presence of his colleague, Kyou Takigawa. Flawlessly composed and strikingly handsome, Takigawa sets an impossible standard that everyone—from fellow staff members to the young students themselves—uses to measure Komori. This relentless comparison takes a heavy toll on Komori’s self-esteem, leaving him feeling perpetually inadequate. Yet, despite his frustration and bruised pride, he finds himself inexplicably captivated by Takigawa’s effortless charm, struggling to keep his distance from the very man who undermines his confidence. In a separate story, Kunihara is a highly attractive college preparatory instructor who has grown accustomed to gracefully deflecting the romantic attention of his female students. His routine is disrupted when Kakei, an endearing and timid male student, begins showing subtle signs of affection that he stubbornly refuses to acknowledge. Unprepared for this unfamiliar dynamic, Kunihara attempts to navigate his student's quiet admiration professionally. However, as he searches for the right way to handle the situation, he realizes that his own feelings are shifting, and he is becoming increasingly drawn to Kakei's reserved nature.
