Zanshoku Gaiku

It was a summer marked by an unsettling silence, devoid of the familiar chorus of cicadas. High school students Yuichi and Airi, close friends grappling with anxieties about their futures, find themselves at the center of an inexplicable crisis. Yuichi is still reeling from the tragic loss of both parents in an accident, while Airi struggles under the weight of a deeply fractured relationship with her own family. Their shared bond becomes their only anchor when a bizarre phenomenon suddenly grips their quiet town. Without warning, local sex workers begin vanishing one after another. As panic mounts, disturbing rumors circulate about a mysterious infectious disease afflicting women—manifesting as grotesque, eye-like rashes that emerge across their bodies, slowly consuming them with an unknown force. Terrified by these whispers, Airi finds herself paralyzed by fear, burdened by a dark secret she cannot bring herself to share with anyone. Yet the spreading hysteria is merely the prelude to a far more sinister threat looming over them. Bound by sisterhood and pushed to their absolute limits, the two girls must navigate a suffocating nightmare in this gripping psychological panic horror story.
