Sekiro Side Story: Hanbei the Undying

The concept of life persisting beyond death is often dismissed as a comforting illusion, a foolish notion used to shield oneself from mortality’s finality. Yet for Hanbei the Undying, this impossibility is a lived reality. Having endured far longer than any ordinary man, he wanders through the ages without ever discovering a true sense of purpose or a meaningful reason to draw his sword. His existence stretches across an expanse of time so vast that few could even begin to comprehend the weight of his accumulated years. Burdened by this endless lifespan and devoid of direction, Hanbei remains a mystery wrapped in centuries of forgotten history. This compelling narrative delves into the depths of his past, exploring the fundamental question of who he truly was before his fateful encounter with the Wolf. Stripped of ambition yet unable to perish, he stands as a tragic figure searching for significance in a world that continually moves forward without him.
