Dissatisfied with the direction of his life, a chronic insomniac spends his restless nights wandering through the quiet hours when the rest of the world is asleep. During one of these solitary midnight walks, he encounters a mysterious young girl who reveals an unusual condition: her vision is far sharper in the darkness than it ever is under the light of day. Bound together by their shared presence in the stillness of the night, she asks for his assistance in tracking down a cherished picture book she has recently lost. What begins as a simple favor soon unfolds into something much deeper. As the two navigate the shadows together, they discover that the missing picture book holds secrets far beyond its illustrated pages. This evocative story weaves together the lives of a man struggling to find meaning in his waking hours and a girl whose unique perception of the dark sets her apart from everyone else. Ultimately, their late-night search becomes a journey of unexpected connection, centered around a seemingly ordinary book that proves to be anything but.
