When Mamiya finally returns to school, Miyoshi discovers that nothing about his former rival is the same. During his time away, it was revealed that Mamiya is genetically female. Rather than retreating from this startling truth, Mamiya makes the bold decision to embrace it, choosing to live the rest of his life as a girl.
