Haru Okamoto, a spirited teenage girl, enters high school with a passion for katanas that began when she discovered one in her grandparents' house as a child. Although her grandparents promised the katana to her when she was an adult, they now dispute that a 15-year-old Haru is mature enough to possess it. Haru finds a new outlet for her love of Japanese swords in the almost-defunct high school Iaido club, where she seeks to recruit new members and overcome her fear of boys. As she navigates her newfound interests, Haru uncovers a deeper connection to Japanese swords than she ever imagined.
