Yorukumo

Society is strictly divided into three tiers: the wealthy reside in the Town, the impoverished struggle in the Fields, and the lowest class dwells within a dense, gloomy Forest. In the Fields, Kiyoko works as the showgirl for the Takaoku Restaurant, managing food preparation to support her mother. Her routine shifts when Tanaka, a regular patron who recruits day laborers for underground work, asks her to deliver meals to an assassin known as Yorukumo—the "Night Spider"—who lives deep within the Forest. Born in the darkness of the woods as a disposable child, Yorukumo was raised entirely devoid of emotion. He cannot feel pain, nor does he possess the ability to read or write. Guided solely by Tanaka's instructions, he executes assassination contracts with chilling ease on a daily basis. However, when Kiyoko crosses paths with this hollow killer, their unexpected connection begins to unravel the rigid foundations of their world, piece by piece.
