From the New World

One thousand years in the future, human civilization has regressed into scattered, isolated communities. In this era devoid of advanced scientific technology, humanity relies entirely on a psychic ability known as Juryoku—a power that allows individuals to materialize their thoughts and serves as the primary source of energy for daily life. The fragile peace of this world is shattered when a young girl named Saki and her friends discover a small archive robot hidden outside their town. This ancient device reveals a forbidden history: Juryoku first emerged during the twenty-first century, igniting a devastating global war between psychics and ordinary humans. The psychics ultimately claimed victory, ushering in a brutal reign of terror that shaped the modern world. Upon learning that the children have uncovered this suppressed knowledge, the adults of the community swiftly retaliate by sealing their Juryoku and casting them into exile. Stripped of their powers and forced to survive in the untamed wilderness, Saki and her companions wander into a dense forest where they encounter the Bakenezumi—massive, hairless, bipedal creatures. Before they can find safety, the exiled children are dragged into a violent and bloody war currently raging among these monstrous beings, fighting desperately to survive in a world that has turned against them.
