Ghost Eyes

Fifteen-year-old Tobias Schneien has spent his entire life sheltered from the outside world, educated exclusively at home within the secluded confines of a church deep in the woods. Raised alongside his many siblings under the watchful eyes of his mother and deeply religious father, Tobi has never known normalcy beyond his family’s isolated existence. Now thrust into the unfamiliar territory of public schooling, he is consumed by paranoia at the prospect of navigating the world among peers on his own. In the absence of familiar comforts, he relies solely on the persistent voices echoing in his mind and the reassuring weight of a blade in his hands to keep himself grounded. His fragile equilibrium shatters when he crosses paths with an eccentric boy who introduces him to the intoxicating concept of true freedom. Through this unexpected connection, Tobi experiences a side of life he never knew existed, one that is thrilling yet entirely overwhelming. As he is drawn deeper into this new reality, he finds himself caught in circumstances that feel impossible to escape. Yet, despite the danger and uncertainty closing in around him, he discovers that he no longer wants to run away.
