After committing an entire magecraft textbook to memory in just a single week, Louis earns a coveted scholarship to the prestigious Minerva Mage Training Institution. However, his transition into academy life is anything but smooth. Originating from an impoverished, isolated village, his rough and unruly demeanor sharply contrasts with the refined nobility that dominates the student body. His overwhelming dominance in magical duels quickly earns him a reputation as a feared problem child among his aristocratic peers, leaving him largely ostracized within the institution's elite circles. Despite the hostility surrounding him, Louis refuses to be defined solely by his notoriety. Along the way, he discovers mentors worthy of his respect and forges genuine bonds with friends he can truly rely upon. These crucial relationships guide his transformation from a combative outcast into the disciplined individual destined to one day claim the title of Sage. Serving as a prequel to Secrets of the Silent Witch, this story chronicles the formative years and infamous exploits of the young man who will eventually become known as the Barrier Mage.
