Merit and the Egyptian God

Although she is very much alive, Merit inexplicably finds herself stranded in the Realm of the Dead. Trapped in a domain meant only for the departed, she faces an impossible challenge: navigating her way back to the world of the living. Her only hope for survival and escape lies in securing the assistance of Anubis, the Egyptian god entrusted with guiding souls. However, obtaining his help proves far more difficult than she ever anticipated. Anubis is not the dutiful deity Merit expected. Afflicted by a mysterious curse, the once-devoted god has entirely abandoned his divine responsibilities and harbors a deep resentment toward humanity. He wants absolutely nothing to do with mortals or his former role, leaving Merit to plead her case before a strikingly handsome but seemingly useless deity who refuses to act. Yet, beneath his indifferent exterior, this good-for-nothing god may harbor more compassion than he is willing to admit. Refusing to surrender to despair, Merit channels her relentless determination to break through his apathy. Armed with sheer perseverance, she sets out to prove that even a cursed, reluctant god can be moved by a human spirit that simply will not quit.
