Those Years In Quest Of Honour Mine

Yu Ziyou and Zhong Wan were brilliant minds who served rival lords, bound by mutual respect yet locked in a history of open and covert conflict. When the struggle for the throne ended in defeat, Zhong Wan was forced to flee to the remote frontier with his two young masters. To survive in exile, he leaned on the faint remnants of a childhood friendship shared with Yu Ziyou. By borrowing personal items and planting calculated rumors, Zhong Wan carefully constructed the illusion of a secret romance between them. Shielded by the formidable influence of the Yu Clan within the imperial court, this fabricated connection secured him a far more comfortable life in the harsh borderlands. As the years passed, the stories Zhong Wan spun grew increasingly convincing. Tales of their sweeping romance traveled across vast distances until they finally reached the capital, where Yu Ziyou heard of his own supposedly epic love affair. After seven years of relentless rumor-mongering, even Yu Ziyou found himself captivated by the narrative. Slowly losing his grip on the truth, he began to genuinely believe the legends, convinced that something profoundly special had truly transpired between them during those distant years.
