Akane suddenly recalls a childhood trip to Ryugenzawa where she was rescued by a boy named Shinnosuke from a giant platypus. She travels back to Ryogenzawa, where she reunites with Shinnosuke who has fallen for her. As Akane becomes involved in helping Shinnosuke with his life-threatening injuries, she is overcome with guilt and decides to stay. Meanwhile, Ranma becomes increasingly jealous, believing Akane has developed feelings for Shinnosuke, and sets out to reclaim her affections.
