Summary

Official Details
On the eve of her enrollment at Seiran Middle School—the very institution her mother once attended—Saho Hanawa encounters a mysterious girl standing alone in the pouring rain. The stranger, who introduces herself as Chie, is dressed in the distinctive Seiran uniform. When Chie asks to accompany Saho home, she agrees without hesitation. The two quickly fall into an easy rhythm of conversation and playful bickering, spending their time together as though they were old friends rather than strangers brought together by a sudden downpour. However, Saho’s parents soon grow suspicious upon hearing their daughter chatting animatedly from her room. Initially assuming she is speaking on a mobile phone, their concern deepens when they open her door only to find her conversing with empty space. Pressed for an explanation, Saho is forced to confess that she has been interacting with a ghost girl named Chie, a revelation that leaves her parents utterly stunned. In the emotional aftermath, they disclose a long-kept family secret: Chie was the name of the stillborn child they lost before Saho was born. The spectral companion Saho invited into her home is not a random spirit, but her own deceased older sister.
