Shining Star

While visiting Oxford University, Imonoyama Taichirou experiences an unexpected and overwhelming moment of love at first sight upon encountering a visiting Indian professor. The brief meeting leaves a lasting impression on him, shaping his thoughts even after he departs England and returns to the prestigious halls of CLAMP School. To his astonishment, fate intervenes shortly after his return when the very same professor arrives at CLAMP School as a guest lecturer. Thrust back into the presence of the man who so deeply captivated him, Taichirou resolves to seize this second chance. Determined to bridge the distance between them, he sets out on a heartfelt pursuit to win the professor's affection, navigating the delicate balance between admiration and romantic ambition within the academic setting. Shining Star holds historical significance as one of the earliest stories released in a one-shot format by the creative collective CLAMP, which consisted of twelve members at the time. The manga was initially featured in the doujinshi publication CLAMP BOOK before receiving a direct volume release in 1987. It was subsequently re-edited and republished by Kadokawa Shoten in 1990.
