Summary

Official Details
Occupied follows the struggles of a children’s manga artist who is battling poor health and facing a devastating professional setback. After learning that his ongoing serialization is scheduled for cancellation, he suffers a sudden bout of illness shortly after eating. Retreating to a bathroom stall to vomit, he notices a piece of offensive graffiti scrawled across the wall. Despite his physical discomfort and mounting career anxieties, the crude marking leaves an indelible impression on him, lingering persistently in his thoughts long after he leaves the restroom. His fortunes appear to shift when he receives an unexpected offer to illustrate for an adult magazine. Suddenly energized by this new opportunity and deeply inspired by the memory of the graffiti, he rushes back to the bathroom in a feverish burst of creative urgency. Overcome by artistic impulse, he begins sketching a nude woman directly onto the stall wall. However, his frantic rush blinds him to a critical detail: he has inadvertently entered the women's restroom. His unauthorized mural is abruptly interrupted when a woman walks in, discovers him drawing on the wall, and immediately cries out for help, turning his moment of inspiration into a humiliating crisis.
