From the apartment directly overhead in room 502, the muffled sounds of shouting and a young girl’s desperate cries echo through the ceiling. Downstairs, the television broadcasts another devastating news report detailing how an innocent child lost their life to unchecked abuse. The grim reality of the situation hangs heavy in the air, forcing an uncomfortable confrontation with a tragedy unfolding just steps away. Caught between self-preservation and moral duty, the protagonist wrestles with a haunting question: is it truly necessary to risk one's own safety by intervening in someone else's crisis? Stepping into such dangerous territory could invite unforeseen trouble, yet turning a blind eye feels equally unbearable. As the distressing noises from above persist, a chilling realization begins to take hold. If no one else acts, this bystander may be the only person capable of saving the girl's life before she becomes just another heartbreaking headline.
