A Desperate Battle

Mamoru Yaotome has harbored a deep crush on his high school upperclassman, Shingo Akutagawa, for years. After discovering that Akutagawa graduated from a military academy to become an elite pilot in the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, Yaotome resolves to follow him. He enlists as a cadet and trains as a mechanic, determined to remain by the older man's side. Even during a televised matchmaking event designed to promote the JASDF, Yaotome ignores the women around him, his attention fixed entirely on Akutagawa. Despite Yaotome’s constant, passionate gazes, Akutagawa firmly declares he will never return those feelings. Yet, Yaotome refuses to be discouraged, and soon begins noticing subtle shifts in the stoic pilot’s behavior. Beneath Akutagawa’s cold exterior lies a deeply guarded reason why he cannot allow himself to accept his own emotions. Set against the disciplined backdrop of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, this romance chronicles an intense emotional battle between a hot-and-cold officer and a devoted, puppy-like enlisted soldier.
