Stuck With the Protagonist

Being born as the daughter of a duke sounds like a life of unmatched luxury, but for Elena, it is a daily struggle for survival. As the youngest child of a ruthless duke utterly devoid of paternal empathy, Elena harbors a singular desire: to live quietly and escape the relentless cruelty and bullying of her own family. Her plans for seclusion are upended, however, when she finds herself shadowed by Sirius Hyperion. Sirius is the illegitimate son of the emperor, and according to prophecy, he is destined to bring total ruin to Elena’s oppressive family. Recognizing the potential for sweet retribution, Elena decides to adopt a passive stance, choosing to sit back and watch the impending demise of the relatives who tormented her. Yet, aligning herself with the architect of her family's destruction introduces a dangerous new game. Will sticking closely to Sirius provide Elena with the ticket she needs to finally break free from her toxic household, or will she ultimately become just another victim swallowed up in the wake of his vengeance?
