Cocoon of the Heart

Jeff Fang harbors a deep, unwavering resentment toward Terrence Lu. Despite barely knowing him on a personal level, Jeff cannot escape the heavy burden that Terrence represents. To Jeff, Terrence’s mere existence serves as an inescapable reminder of the profound misfortune and hardship his own family was forced to endure. This lingering bitterness shapes Jeff's every interaction, turning what should be ordinary college life into a quiet battlefield of unspoken grievances and inherited pain. As both young men continue to navigate their shared university experience, the unavoidable proximity begins to erode the rigid walls of Jeff's hostility. Forced into the same academic spaces and social circles, Jeff finds it increasingly difficult to maintain his one-dimensional hatred. The closer they are drawn together through the routines of college life, the more the foundation of Jeff's anger starts to crack. Slowly and unexpectedly, his deeply rooted animosity begins to shift, giving way to complex new emotions he never anticipated feeling for the person he once considered his greatest source of anguish.
