Plastic Memories: Say to good-bye

Told from the perspective of Michiru Kinushima, Plastic Memories: Say to good-bye is set in a near-future world where androids indistinguishable from humans have become a widespread part of everyday life. The leading manufacturer, SA Corp., has developed an unprecedented model known as Giftia. These advanced androids possess the highest degree of emotional depth and human-like qualities ever engineered, making them remarkably lifelike companions. However, this technological marvel comes with a severe limitation. Due to inherent flaws in their design, every Giftia is bound by a strict operational lifespan. Once an android exceeds this designated service period, its systems begin to deteriorate, leading to dangerous and tragic consequences. To prevent such disasters, SA Corp. establishes a specialized division called the Terminal Service, tasked with tracking down and safely retrieving Giftia before their time runs out. Within this department, a newly hired employee named Tsukasa Mizugaki begins his career. He is paired with Isla, a Giftia who serves as his partner in the field. Together, they form a dedicated team responsible for carrying out the emotionally taxing missions required to recover expiring androids across the world.
