Fushigi na Shounen (2001)

Fushigi na Shounen is an episodic manga woven together by the presence of a single, enigmatic protagonist—a boy who possesses no specific name. Operating outside the boundaries of normal existence, he journeys freely across different eras and locations, encountering a diverse array of individuals throughout his travels. Rather than acting as a traditional hero or antagonist, he serves as a mysterious catalyst, engaging those he meets in strange and compelling transactions that challenge their understanding of reality. Through these encounters, the nameless boy offers extraordinary exchanges to the people he crosses paths with. He grants them fleeting visions into their own pasts or futures, or reveals the hidden secrets belonging to others. These revelations are never given freely; instead, they form the basis of high-stakes wagers. The boy challenges each individual to confront the knowledge they have been shown, betting on whether they possess the will and ability to alter the course of their destiny. Each episode explores this central conflict, examining human nature and the fragile concept of fate through the lens of the boy's supernatural trades.
