Uehara is a socially awkward young man who has harbored a singular ambition since childhood: to become an entomologist. He dedicated his entire life to pursuing this dream, only to ultimately fall short of his goal. Defeated and directionless, he is forced to return to his home island, where he receives no comfort from his mother, who remains entirely unsympathetic to his struggles and failures. His arrival coincides with an influx of tourists who have traveled to the island to witness a rare astronomical event. However, in the aftermath of this celestial phenomenon, Uehara’s life takes a bizarre and irreversible turn when he encounters a peculiar insect. Its bite triggers a profound physical transformation that alters his entire body, including his most intimate anatomy. Now grappling with these inexplicable changes, Uehara must confront a terrifying new reality as he desperately tries to understand what is happening to him and what will ultimately become of his life.
