AKB48 Satsujin Jiken

AKB48 Satsujin Jiken is a detective manga series adapted from the popular "Murder Mystery" television commercials produced for Glico's "Ice no Mi" candy campaign. The story revolves around the all-female Japanese idol group AKB48, thrusting its members into a gripping whodunit scenario when tragedy strikes close to home. The narrative begins with a shocking discovery: the lifeless body of fellow idol Kato Rena is found by her bandmates. As panic and suspicion ripple through the group, Maeda Atsuko arrives at the murder scene and takes it upon herself to investigate the crime. What follows is a tense mystery where trust fractures, as every single one of the eighty-nine current members of the idol group becomes a potential suspect in Rena's death. With an overwhelming number of suspects and the stakes impossibly high, Maeda must navigate a web of secrets hidden behind the glamorous facade of the idol industry to uncover the truth. Spanning exactly nine chapters, the series delivers a concise yet compelling murder mystery that expands upon the premise of the original promotional campaign, transforming a commercial concept into a fully realized suspense narrative.
