Danganronpa: The Academy of Hope and the High School Students of Despair

Fifteen elite high school students, each recognized as the ultimate prodigy in their respective fields, are gathered at an exclusive and prestigious academy. Graduating from this institution is widely considered a guaranteed path to lifelong success, yet achieving that milestone proves to be far more harrowing than any of them could have imagined. The school is overseen by a sinister robotic bear named Monokuma, who reveals the horrifying true condition for graduation: the only way to leave the academy alive is to murder a fellow classmate and escape detection. The rules of this twisted game are absolute. If the surviving students successfully deduce the killer's identity during the mandatory class trial, the murderer alone faces execution. However, if they fail to uncover the truth, the killer earns their freedom while every remaining student is annihilated. Trapped within the academy's walls, paranoia and desperation begin to fracture their fragile alliances. This manga adaptation of the acclaimed video game offers a unique narrative perspective by delving deeply into the minds of both the victims and the killers. By exploring their inner thoughts and personal histories, the story provides profound insight into the tragic motives that drive ordinary teenagers to commit unspeakable acts in the name of survival.
