A Beast's Love Is Like the Moon

Seeking refuge from the relentless pace of city life, Izuki agrees to look after his uncle’s remote mountain house—a place locals whisper is frequented by yokai. Dismissing the rumors as mere superstition, he ventures into the surrounding woods, only to be ambushed by a supernatural creature. He is rescued by Haku, a strikingly beautiful man who reveals himself to be the incarnation of a komainu guardian dog. Haku immediately pledges his loyalty, begging Izuki to accept him as his master. Though Izuki initially resists, eager to return to the city, he finds himself moved by the profound loneliness in Haku’s eyes and reluctantly brings him back to the house. As they share the same roof, Izuki settles into an unexpected rhythm with the assertive yet deeply devoted guardian. The comfort of their daily life begins to blur his desire to leave, making him question whether the city still holds any appeal. Beneath this newfound domestic peace, however, Haku conceals a dangerous secret that threatens Izuki’s very survival. As their bond deepens, both must confront whether they can truly find a future together, or if the centuries of isolation Haku has endured will ultimately consume them both.
