The World's Least Interesting Master Swordsman

Originally published on the web platform Syosetu, *The World's Least Interesting Master Swordsman* follows the peculiar fate of Sansui Shirokuro. Burdened with an old-fashioned name, Sansui’s life is cut tragically short when a divine blunder results in God extinguishing his life prematurely, mistaking him for an elderly man whose time had expired. Reincarnated into a sprawling fantasy realm, Sansui joins the ranks of the Immortals, granting him the potential for godlike power—provided he is willing to invest centuries of grueling effort. After dedicating five hundred years exclusively to the monotonous repetition of sword swings, his solitary routine is suddenly disrupted by the arrival of an infant. Entrusted by his master to venture out into civilization and raise the child, Sansui crosses paths with a haughty young noblewoman and her tomboyish bodyguard. Though his swordsmanship appears entirely plain and unpretentious, the fast-moving mortal realm is about to discover the terrifying heights a seemingly hopeless swordsman can reach with five hundred years of relentless practice behind him.
