Zone

Zone is a one-shot manga that serves as the foundational pilot for the acclaimed series D.Gray-man. Widely recognized by fans and scholars of the franchise as chapter zero, this standalone work established the creative groundwork from which the full serialization would eventually grow. As the conceptual starting point of the larger narrative, Zone introduces the core framework that defines the subsequent story. It shares numerous thematic and structural similarities with the main series, offering readers an early glimpse into the universe, tone, and character dynamics that would later be expanded upon in great detail. By functioning as both a prototype and a prologue, this one-shot holds significant historical value within the franchise, bridging the gap between the creator's initial vision and the fully realized world of D.Gray-man.
