A Small Lie

Yu-Chan and Yu-Jae are brothers who could not be more different. While the older sibling, Yu-Chan, consistently excels in his academic pursuits, the younger brother, Yu-Jae, shows absolutely no interest in schoolwork. Their mother, Ji-Won, watches this stark contrast with growing concern, desperate to find a way to help her struggling son engage with his education. Hope finally arrives when a tutor named Mi-Ra enters their lives. Under her guidance, Yu-Jae slowly begins to open up, showing a willingness to connect that he has never demonstrated before. For Ji-Won, this breakthrough is nothing short of a miracle. She feels an immense sense of relief watching her younger son finally respond to someone’s efforts, believing that the family's long-standing struggles over his future might finally be coming to an end. However, that fragile peace shatters completely when Ji-Won receives an unexpected letter from Mi-Ra. Instead of a routine progress report, the message contains a chilling confession: "I write to you regarding my murder of your son." This single, horrifying sentence plunges a relieved mother into an unimaginable nightmare, transforming a story of academic struggle into a devastating psychological crisis where the truth behind those words remains terrifyingly unclear.
