Butai ni Sake!

Asahi Oniwa is stepping into high school with a clear goal: to leave his past behind and finally learn how to connect with the people around him. For someone who has always struggled profoundly with basic social interaction, the prospect of making genuine friends feels like an insurmountable challenge. He knows he needs to change, but finding the right path to overcome his deeply ingrained awkwardness remains a daunting mystery. His search for a fresh start leads him to an unexpected solution—the school’s Theatre Club. Rather than facing the intimidating world of casual conversation alone, Asahi immerses himself in a vibrant environment filled with an eccentric and memorable cast of characters. Among them is the club captain, Imari, whose outward role as a leader masks his own quiet struggles with vulnerability and opening up to others. Through the shared experience of the stage, Asahi discovers that building meaningful relationships might not be as impossible as he once believed, especially when surrounded by peers who are navigating their own personal hurdles.
