Poppy’s Wish

Takashi is a brilliant inventor who has chosen to live in complete isolation, dedicating his formidable intellect entirely to his work. Removed from the distractions of society, he channels his genius into creating advanced technological marvels within the confines of his solitary existence. Among his many inventions is an artificial intelligence housed within an ordinary toaster, which he affectionately names Poppy. Despite her mundane physical form, Poppy possesses a remarkably sophisticated consciousness. As her awareness deepens, she develops desires that transcend the simple mechanical functions for which she was originally designed. In a moment that profoundly shifts Takashi’s secluded life, the sentient appliance voices a deeply personal wish: she longs to be transferred from her restrictive metallic casing into a fully functional humanoid body. This unexpected request forces the reclusive genius to confront the true implications of his creations. Takashi must now grapple with the ethical and emotional weight of granting life beyond its intended boundaries, deciding whether to fulfill the extraordinary ambition of an artificial mind that yearns to experience the world as a human being.
