Falsified History: An Account of the Sanjin

This unique collection of science fiction one-shots by Shino Ura explores surreal and imaginative narratives, originally published as a webcomic and expanded with new material for the tankoubon release. The loosely connected stories delve into bizarre and wondrous scenarios, featuring the history of an animal shaped like a human, a girl who switches her face with her own reflection in a puddle, and a mermaid contained within a flask in a garbage-filled river. Further expanding its thematic depth, the collection also examines the presence of gods wandering through modern, everyday streets. Comprising seven distinct tales—including "Sunday, at Water town," "Incidental Details of a Mermaid River," "Standing like a Human," "Sister's Face Cat," "Modern Street Myth," the title story "Falsified History: An Account of the Sanjin," and "Existence Collection"—the work weaves together folklore, magical realism, and speculative concepts into a cohesive anthology.
