Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

In a distant future, humanity survives deep underground within vast caverns, entirely unaware of the sky and stars above. In the small village of Jiha, Simon—a timid young digger—unearths a mysterious glowing object during his routine work. He soon crosses paths with Kamina, a bold and charismatic youth whose fiery ambition is matched only by his signature rakish sunglasses. Together, they form the Gurren Brigade, a small band of brothers united by a single dream: to shatter the ceiling of their subterranean world and reach the surface that most villagers believe does not exist. When the village elder dismisses their aspirations as foolishness and punishes the group, their ambitions seem doomed. However, everything changes when a catastrophic disaster crashes down from the world above, plunging the entire village into peril. Forced into action, Simon, Kamina, a fierce girl named Yoko wielding a massive gun, and a compact but resilient robot called Lagann must rise to save their home. Emerging onto the surface for the first time, the newly forged allies discover a brutal battlefield overrun by rampaging Beastmen. To turn the tide in humanity's favor, they must fight back against overwhelming odds and pierce the very heavens themselves.
