Novelist Sakaguchi finds his quiet life unexpectedly disrupted when he takes in a frail, abandoned kitten. Soon after, Kazuya, a reserved high school student, begins visiting his home just to spend time with the small cat. During one of these visits, the usually silent teenager suddenly confesses his feelings, admitting that he fell in love the very moment they met. Initially, Sakaguchi dismisses the confession as nothing more than childish infatuation. However, watching Kazuya awkwardly stammer through his declaration while his ears flush bright red, the novelist cannot help but find the boy undeniably endearing. What begins as an innocent attachment quickly complicates Sakaguchi’s world. As an adult, he understands that genuine romantic relationships carry physical expectations and complexities far beyond a teenager's idealized notions of love. Caught between his own rough-edged nature and Kazuya's earnest clumsiness, Sakaguchi must navigate the delicate boundary between dismissing the boy's affection and acknowledging its sincerity. Their unlikely bond blossoms into a tender story exploring the contrast between a seasoned, unpolished writer and a shy student learning what it truly means to give his heart to someone else.
