Rengoku no Karma

Makoto’s daily life is defined by relentless hardship. Tormented by bullies at school and facing mounting tension with his father over his truancy, he struggles to find any reason to keep going. A brief glimmer of hope appears when Kirisaki, a female classmate, praises his artistic talent, momentarily lifting his spirits. However, that fragile optimism shatters when he witnesses her being harassed by the ringleader of his tormentors. Rushing to her defense, Makoto is blindsided by a cruel truth: Kirisaki is actually the bully’s girlfriend and the very person who orchestrated his persecution from the start. Crushed by betrayal and despair, Makoto chooses to end his own life. Instead of finding peace, he awakens in purgatory—a desolate realm suspended between Heaven and Hell. There, he is burdened with an unexpected mission: he must save the lives of six individuals whose futures will be irrevocably damaged by his suicide. Among those he is forced to protect are his grieving father, the classmates who tormented him, and even Kirisaki herself. Trapped in this liminal existence, Makoto must confront the very people who destroyed him in order to earn his salvation.
