Azuki Kusunoki and her brother Daizu share a close bond, living together in the Arisuno apartment complex. Just next door resides Chika Tachibana, a popular girl who has been their friend since childhood. Because all of their parents are constantly occupied with work, the three youngsters have spent their formative years relying on one another, creating a tight-knit support system built on mutual care and understanding. The familiar rhythm of their daily lives shifts when two new neighbors, the Hiiragi brothers Mizuki and Ryuusei, move into the adjacent unit. In stark contrast to the affectionate relationship Azuki shares with Daizu, the dynamic between the Hiiragi siblings is fraught with tension. Younger brother Ryuusei displays open defiance toward Mizuki, refusing to show him any respect or warmth. This constant friction leaves Mizuki deeply troubled, as he agonizes over his perceived failure to be the dependable older brother he believes he should be.
