Toutetsu

Set against the backdrop of a fantasy realm inspired by ancient China, Toutetsu follows the journey of Fuuren, an armless warrior known as a Defender. Within this world, Defenders are elite operatives bound by a singular creed: once they accept a commission, they will see it through to completion regardless of the obstacles in their path. However, they are never obligated to take on a task unless it aligns with their own judgment. Fuuren is summoned to a vulnerable frontier town standing directly in the path of the advancing Ka Empire. The desperate local leadership seeks to hire him to bolster their modest armies and hold the settlement against the impending siege. Yet, upon his arrival, Fuuren uncovers a web of hidden intrigue festering within the town's walls. Confronted with internal betrayals and secrets far more complex than a straightforward military defense, he ultimately chooses to bypass the original commission entirely, accepting a vastly different assignment that shifts the course of the conflict.
