Linda is the daughter of Count Sharot, a nobleman residing in the kingdom of Degrus. While the neighboring land of Zaromon has long sought an opportunity to launch an attack against Degrus, the kingdom's monarch remains dangerously oblivious to the looming threat, choosing instead to indulge in endless festivities. During one such royal gathering, the celebration is violently interrupted when a group of armed intruders bursts into the hall, appearing to be soldiers from Zaromon. Amid the chaos, a mysterious harpist steps forward and rescues Linda from the attackers. He reveals that the assault was not what it seemed; the intruders were merely posing as Zaromon warriors and are actually loyal operatives working for Count Zolge, a traitor within their own borders. As the danger subsides, a strange and unsettling realization dawns on Linda. She somehow knows that her rescuer's name is Julius, despite having no logical reason to recognize him. Even more bewildering, Julius knows her name as well, though the two have never met before in their lives.
