In a world where the kingdom of Hyrule has been swallowed by an endless ocean known as the Great Sea, Link and Tetra sail the waters aboard her pirate vessel. Their journey takes a dark turn when they encounter a mysterious Ghost Ship. The moment Tetra steps aboard, she cries out for help, but Link’s desperate attempt to rescue her ends in failure when he slips and plunges into the sea below. He eventually washes ashore on a remote island, where a fairy named Ciela awakens him from his slumber. While exploring the island, Link discovers the Phantom Hourglass—an ancient artifact brimming with the Sands of Time—and meets an elderly man named Oshus. Determined to reunite Link with Tetra, Oshus offers his guidance in tracking down the elusive Ghost Ship. To navigate the vast ocean, Link secures the assistance of Captain Linebeck and his vessel, the S.S. Linebeck. Together, Link, Ciela, and Linebeck voyage from island to island across the Great Sea. As their search deepens, Link realizes that the key to finding the Ghost Ship lies within the Temple of the Ocean King. By deciphering hidden maps and clues inside its walls, he must locate the Spirits of Courage, Wisdom, and Power to finally uncover the truth behind Tetra's disappearance.
