Siren reigns as the absolute queen of Lakeside Park City, a seemingly flawless state that proudly boasts a 99.9 percent safety and happiness rating. Under her watchful administration, the city thrives in perfect order. To maintain this utopian society, she created the Ondine—specialized information terminals born directly from her own being—to monitor and manage the populace. However, the system’s perfection is disrupted when one of these Ondine units becomes lost within the city. She is unexpectedly discovered and aided by Len Kinami, an uncouth boy who grumbles and complains even as he firmly takes her hand to guide her. Despite his rough demeanor and constant protests, Len’s actions radiate a genuine warmth that the Ondine has never experienced before. Because the Ondine are intrinsically linked to their creator, this unfamiliar emotion does not remain isolated. The profound sense of warmth flows directly back through their connection and into Siren herself. For the first time, the absolute queen finds herself utterly bewildered by an unknown feeling, threatening to unravel the very foundation of her perfectly controlled domain.
