Love Theory

Kanji Yarahata is a hopeless underachiever who struggles to hold even a basic conversation with women, leaving him entirely incapable of forming any kind of romantic relationship. His bleak prospects take an unexpected turn when a ghost named Aiya suddenly appears before him. Concerned that the Yarahata family line will come to an end if nothing changes, Aiya declares himself Kanji’s personal love doctor, determined to coach the young man through the daunting process of connecting with the opposite sex. The first real test of this unusual partnership arrives when Kanji begins working part-time at a local convenience store. There, he discovers that one of his new coworkers is Saki Yoshizato, a strikingly beautiful young woman who also happens to be the owner's daughter. Guided by Aiya's persistent advice, Kanji manages to stumble his way through an initial conversation with her and slowly begins building a tentative connection. Despite these early steps forward, he quickly realizes that transforming himself into someone capable of dating such a remarkable woman remains a long and difficult journey ahead.
