Otome Youkai Zakuro

Set in a subtly reimagined version of Japan during the Meiji Era, society stands at the threshold of modernization following the recent adoption of the Gregorian calendar. In this shifting world, humans and supernatural beings must navigate an uneasy coexistence. To bridge the growing cultural divide and foster mutual understanding between the two races, an unprecedented initiative is launched: fox-eared girls from the youkai district are paired with a delegation of young human soldiers to work side by side. At the heart of this fragile alliance is Zakuro, a fiercely independent youkai whose unyielding spirit sets her apart. Tasked with cooperating alongside military men bound by strict human conventions, she finds herself thrust into an environment where tradition clashes with progress. The partnership demands compromise, yet Zakuro’s bold personality frequently challenges the refined sensibilities of her human counterparts. As these two vastly different worlds collide, the resulting friction threatens to unravel the very cooperation they were brought together to achieve, leaving both sides to wonder if true harmony between human and youkai is even possible.
