A middle-aged man, burdened by despair, journeys into the mountains with the sole intention of ending his own life. Along his solitary path, he stumbles upon a small cave where a young black fox girl—a youkai bound by an ancient seal—is trapped. When she pleads for her freedom, he releases her without hesitation, indifferent to the consequences as he continues toward his grim destination. However, the liberated spirit harbors plans of her own. Despite her original intentions, the fox girl intervenes and compels the weary man to abandon his fatal resolve. Her unexpected interference alters the course of both their lives, forging an unlikely bond between a broken human and a supernatural creature that ultimately blossoms into marriage. What follows is a heartfelt chronicle of their shared domestic life. Together, they navigate the quiet complexities of a union between two vastly different beings, finding solace and purpose in each other's company long after the shadows of the mountain have faded behind them.
